Dale Schemlzle, Vice President and General Manager
Dale Schmelzle has over 30 years experience in operations and management of iron and steel plants in both Canada and the US. He graduated from University of Toronto with an Honors degree in Economics and completed an MBA in operations management and finance at Queens University in Kingston, Ontario. From 1981 to 1995, he held a number of key operations positions at Co-Steel Lasco a Canadian mini-mill steel producer outside Toronto.In I996, he became Vice President-Manufacturing for Gallatin Steel in Ghent Kentucky. In 1998,he became VP/GM for CMC Steel South Carolina and in 2004 EVP-East Mills for CMC Steel-South Carolina and Alabama.From 2006-2008, he was EVP/Division Manager for CMC Recycling, one of the largest metal recycling companies in the US. He joined McWane in 2009 as AGM for McWane Cast Iron pipe in Birmingham ,Alabama and in June 2010 became AGM for Clow Water Systems in Coshocton Ohio. He became VP/GM for Atlantic States in March 2011.

Hal Eddings, Technical Director
Hal has a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and an M.B.A. from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and is a registered Professional Engineer in the state of Alabama. Hal serves on several national standards committees for the American Water Works Association and is chairs two ductile iron pipe related subcommittees. Prior to coming to Atlantic States, Hal was Technical Manager and Operations Manager at McWane Cast iron pipe company. He also has 16 years experience at U.S. Pipe in engineering, maintenance, production and as Plant Manager at their Bessemer, Alabama facility.

Craig Spitzer, General Sales Manager
Craig Spitzer has been the General Sales Manager since 2006 and is responsible for managing the Atlantic States sales territory which encompasses the thirteen eastern states from Maine to North Carolina as well as Puerto Rico. Prior to becoming General Sales Manager Craig Spitzer served as Assistant General Sales Manager beginning in November of 2002. Craig began his career with Atlantic States in February 1994 and was responsible for sales territories in Eastern Pennsylvania (1994-1999), Maryland/Delaware (1999-2000) and New Jersey (2000-2002). Previously Craig worked for MobileCom/Bell South in Philadelphia PA, and ENRAC in Wayne NJ. Craig is a graduate of Moravian College with a BA in Management/Arts.

Patrick Hennessy, Director of Environmental Engineering
Patrick Hennessy has been in the iron and steel industry, managing environmental compliance in New Jersey since 1998. He previously was with the Gerdau Ameristeel,( formally Co-Steel) facilities located in Perth Amboy & Sayreville NJ. Previous to this, Patrick worked for various environmental consulting firms in and around the New York City area and specialized in Lead Paint abatement and Bridge/Tunnel rehabilitation projects. Patrick graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a BS in Environmental Health and Safety and a minor in Biology. Since being with Atlantic States, Patrick has managed a department with multiple environmental engineers with a goal for 100% compliance through continuous improvement. Achievements at the facility include being accepted into the NJDEP Stewardship Program, internal company Environmental Improvement award as well as the Screaming Eagle award for the best combined Environmental & Safety program.

Brendon LaPort, Director of Safety
Brendon LaPort has more than 16 years experience as a health and safety professional in manufacturing, environmental remediation and construction industries prior to joining Atlantic States. He graduated from Slippery Rock University of Pa with a BS in Safety and Environmental Management. Mr. LaPort is recognized as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OSHT) and a Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM). A member of the American Society of Safety Engineers and is an authorized by OSHA as an outreach trainer for general industry
