Foundry Engineer- to analyze manufacturing processes, procedures and causes of casting defects to recommend process improvements utilizing advanced engineering techniques for problem resolution including statistical process control, graphical analysis, process mapping, pareto charts, cause and effect diagrams, thermo-chemical and thermo-mechanical behavior and molding methods and techniques of foundry shell sand system. Use American Foundry Society standards and testing methods in sand grain distribution, sieve analysis, and Loss on Ignition testing procedure. Analyze flow and solidification behavior of ferrous metal and effects of and diverse foundry core coatings on castings. Interpret and relate iron chemistry to metallurgical properties – microstructure and Charpy, hardness, and tensile testings. Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing and dimensional metrology. Communicate results verbally and in writing to senior management and train large diverse work force in improved methods of casting. 40hrs/wk, shifts as assigned.
